Um, ya, so apparently my daughter would still like a baby sister to dress up…Sorry honey, it ain’t gonna happen!! Little Dude is so rough and tumble he just looks hilarious when she dresses him up in her clothes…poor kid!
Hope this made ya giggle…Oh, and he’s sitting on the dog food container in case you’re wondering! 😉
Just a few images of my girl squeezing the last bit of summer out…she’s a barefoot dress wearin’ fool, so I’m sure she’ll be thrilled to have to go back to bundling up like the kid on “A Christmas Story”!!
Enjoy what’s left of the nice weather! xox
Cake Boss that is! I kid you not…If you’ve been following the blog, you know that anything involving sifting flour strikes fear into my heart, so passing the spatula over to my sister-in-law couldn’t make me happier!
She’s always been an amazing baker: crepes (hey! We haven’t had those in a while…), cinnamon buns – from scratch! (This makes Christmas morning joyous. Who cares about pressies, I’ve got a date with Mr. Cinnamon Bun and his side kick frosting!) and cupcakes…or “pup cakes” as my boy would call them. I’m talking serious Bakerella competition! She’s perfecting her recipe and my waist line is growing…gee thanks sis!
But now she’s even been taking cake decorating classes!! When will it all end?? I need to suture my pie hole (or cake hole as the case may be) as the desserts are getting more and more delectable as we speak. Here’s her final project from her last class:
Amazing isn’t it!?! However, remember that little will power issue I was mentioning…well, my beloved sis drops this off in all its butter cream glory and then feeds it to her staff at school! The nerve! Oh well, I forgive you…you saved me an extra 10 hrs at the gym as I was tempted to put the camera down and hunker down with a fork 😉
Keep up the good work, “Auntie Bim” 🙂
Isla has been dying to get to school since JK (junior kindergarten) ended last June. Sometime over the summer, she shot up like a weed, sprouted a little ‘tude and started to read…a lot… All the girls were very excited to see each other again after their summer break and Campbell benefited by getting hugs from all of them too. Man, he’s going to love having an older sister in a few years 😉
Here’s a few images from Monday…sigh…
Isla’s best bud was equally happy to get back at it and see all of her friends…
However, the little brothers were less than happy to watch the girls head off to class without them…
We dropped Isla off for her first day and went to pick her up, but she decided (after a quick hug for her brother…not even me!) that she wanted to take the bus home. Sheesh…fine. We’ll see how much you like the bus at -25C little girl! LOL!!
We raced home to meet the bus and Campbell was a little disturbed as to why she wasn’t with us. However, he agreed to wait for the bus with one of his favourite toys from last Christmas:
She finally arrived with a very happy glow and the two of them were thrilled to see each other…at least for the first half an hour of the reunion!
Happy Skool School Days…And to all of you teachers out there…May the force be with you! 🙂

Yup, home again and back to reality and laundry, laundry, laundry. My son produces so much laundry from all of his antics, it’s amazing! Ah well, pictures to follow soon from our East Coast adventure soon…
But first, I get to photograph a yummy 6 dayer tomorrow morning and I’m soooo excited to meet this little guy. Mom and Dad anxiously awaited his arrival and they are so in love with him! Send sleepy, “squishy” thoughts his way please!
Until then, nighty night 😉
So I think I’ve figured out where my headaches are stemming from…this little thing I’m staring at right now. Sheesh. I’m STILL going through a million and one pics from the west coast and my eyes are killing me from staring at this stinkin’ computer, but my deadline is fast approaching as we leave for the east coast on Saturday! Yup, you read that correctly…it’s a bi-coastal summer! Our plans still aren’t totally set, but we’re going to see where the island (PEI that is) takes us. Should be fun!!
Here’s a few more from Victoria – Willows Beach to be exact.
Happy Tuesday!
This was the shot I originally wanted to get, but had some obvious issues (lens not wide enough, focus etc. etc.). However, I still kind of like it…
Just don’t look to closely at the button…I think they’ll pop any minute!
Well, as some of you know, our 10 year wedding anniversary is coming up next month, so when presented with a self-portrait challenge by the ever so fabulous Dana Pugh, I thought hmmm…why not? I know why not. Focussing on yourself when you’re not there is hard!! LOL! Actually, it was a very tough challenge and I had all these visions of grandeur about churches, fields of hay, sunflare, oh my the possibilities! But, as usual, reality got in the way. So, I just tried a couple of things at home and worked on my ability to bounce my flash a little. They are far from perfect and if I cared more, I would edit them a little better, but you know how that goes…
I’m just glad the dress still fits 😉

So {sniff}, I watched {sniff} Marley & Me {sniff} last night {double sniff}. Holy cow that movie struck a chord or two. I have a few snaps of my beloved mutt after he had literally ransacked our basement when he was in his younger days. The poor boy has gone from being a spoiled inside(ish) dog to being relegated to the backyard for a couple of reasons. Shepherd/husky/lab crosses = 80 lbs of fur is one. The other being our daughter is allergic to him. We couldn’t bare to give him up as he’s 9 years old and our first furry son, so we’ve come to a mutually agreed upon arrangement.
However, after watching Marley & Me, my husband and I looked at each other and snuck him in for some cuddles and carrots (he’s strange and loves carrots and popcorn). It was actually kind of funny as he really didn’t know what to do with himself once inside. It’s been 2 years since he’s been exclusively outside and he’s adjusted well. He just kept looking at us like, “What’s wrong? Why are you letting me in?”
Here’s to you Sitka!
