Well, I’m almost back in the land of the living after a very nasty bout of strep throat…I’m hoping to get images up in the next few days of my two year old attacking his cake!!
I’m sure the 20+ weather this weekend will help to cure me!!
Shona 🙂
Our final lighting assignment was to create a faux magazine cover. I seemed to have a food theme going on throughout the course, so I decided to stick with it and include some vino. Here’s what I came up with…I hope you like it!
TGIF!! Shona 🙂
Well, I figured that since my son was induced after being 12 days overdue and feeling like I was carrying a small elephant, I figure it’s okay I’m only 1 day “overdue” with his birthday post!
Yup, little man turned 2 yesterday and what did we do…nothing. How sad is that? He didn’t know any different, but I did feel a little guilty. Oh well, we decided best to leave the celebration to the weekend when we can all enjoy it.
To top it off, he has some crazy infection at the moment, so no actual “dirt day” pics yet…However, he makes everything into a cake and sings “Happy Dirt Day tooooooo youuuuuuuuuuuu”, so I thought it was fitting to show one of his latest creations…
More pictures to follow…
Yup, I did. And all of you responsible, both near and far…you know who you are! I became transfixed by the cuteness of cake pops. If you don’t know what they are, look out…They are tasty balls of cake, icing and chocolate candy coating made into the cutest little creatures possible.
The process is not for the faint of heart and takes a steady hand (so don’t drink copious amounts of coffee prior to decorating or you’ll have to do a lot of “plastic surgery” on your critters like I did!).
You see it involves lots of little tiny sprinkles and a whole lot of fun. Have a piqued your interest yet??? Here’s my attempt at some of the fantastic Bakerella’s Easter Cake Pops!
I hope the Easter Bunny was good to you!
Shona xo
Now Costco is out of Mini Eggs!! I’m having a crisis here people…and Easter hasn’t even happened yet! I should be hitting withdrawl square on NEXT week, not this week!
“Hi, my name is Shona and I’m a chocoholic…”
Until mini eggs are no longer in the store? These things are far too addictive and they negate everything I do at the gym!! But they’re soooo good! I went to our local bulk store and *gasp* they were sold out!! A week before Easter and they’re sold out? What is a girl to do???
Enjoy your 4 day week 🙂

We had a beautiful and not too cold (for Ottawa in March!) night for our downtown shoot. I need to get out more past 7pm…there really is a whole other world out there that I seem to have forgotten about since having kids!!!
Here’s a couple of my favourites:
Birthday pictures are coming, but I always seem to be 10 steps behind in my processing!
Enjoy your Sunday 🙂

Is 5 today…Now I get why my Mom gets all weird on my birthday…You never forget how you felt on the day you have your baby. Where did that time go? It’s funny how she’s growing up, but I’m staying the same age…again and again…LOL!
She had so much hair (someone actually asked me if I put a wig on her…) that I wished I had a loonie for every time someone commented on it (college would be paid for!). She has brought such joy to our lives and her little brother idolizes her – why wouldn’t he? She’s so sweet and kind to him.
So here’s a little retro pick from day 1 in the hospital…

Love you baby girl!
A friend was kind enough to bring his daughter to class the other day and I had an absolute blast “shooting” her…she gave me lots of attitude (in a good way!), poses and took direction really well.  I just kept thinking…10 more years and this is what my daughter will be like….aaaah! Freaked me right out!

Thanks again, M!!

I’m SCOTTISH, not Irish! Hee hee…I have been known to dance a jig or two to this song though…
