p.s. Title of the post was because I was so proud of myself that not only did I figure out how to embed a YouTube video, BUT I also figured out how to create links!!  Look at me…all technical and such!

I am constantly being humbled by this photography passion of mine…The latest and greatest is glass (or metal for that matter).  You have to get the lighting just rightand even then something else could go wrong.  Product photography is definitely not for the faint of heart…Here’s my attempt at some wine glasses…

Oh, and you know who you are!  A very sweet friend of mine gently reminded me that I hadn’t posted anything in a while… Who knew I had “peeps” actually reading my blog!  LOL!!  So, a few images from Winterlude just for you, J 🙂

Our daughter actually took some skating lessons on a tiny rink on the canal and loved it…However, her helmet didn’t fit with a toque, so she wore her Dad’s hockey helmet!!

Watching the procession of cleaning machines come down the canal, with police escort, was pretty cool…

A good ol’ game of hockey…doesn’t get any better than that!

Nighty night!

With Valentine’s Day around the corner, I thought I’d send a recent pic that I named “Pucker Up”…The limes were put to good use after the shot was in the can, so to speak 😉

I never knew this product photography thing was so hard, but man, it’s like everything….The more I learn the less I know!  It’s some weird inverse relationship.  Ah well, at least I got to eat my product after the shoot 🙂

Here are a couple from day 2…we did some small flash stuff and then some “hollywood” lighting which was fun, but man those lights are hot!  Guess that’s why they call them hot lights, huh?!  LOL!

The best part about really focusing on my photography (finally!) is that I’m seeing things in a new light – I want to shoot (photographically speaking, of course :)) everything…including shots where I have to freeze my butt off at night (I’ll let you know if I get the one I’m looking for…).  The down side about all of this is I’m somewhat obsessed with it all.  I think my family is getting a little sick of it!  Oh well, maybe when they’re older they’ll appreciate all the photos!

A definite bonus to the cold weather we’ve been having is that the canal froze early this year…which means it’s Beavertails time!  We went briefly on opening day just to have a taste.  I asked my daughter if she wanted to try one and she was reallyhesitant.  I had to convince her they were yummy and covered in sugar…Only then would she try one.  After she was done I asked if she liked it and she looked perplexed, “Mommy, it was really good!  But why are they called Beavertails?  I thought they’d be made of meat!”  I love the way a 4 year old’s brain works!!
