Well, we did it. We took the plunge and rescued an adorable little puppy from SCARS (Second Chance Animal Rescue Society). Anyone who knows me or has read my blog knows how hard it was when our sweet Sitka passed 2.5 years ago. It has taken me this long to even think I could do it again… I’m not going to lie, the thought of getting a puppy seemed daunting, but we just felt like something was missing. So after a lot of searching (stalking) various websites and debating on the type of dog we would get, we decided to see what nature had in store for us!
We have had her a month and we just can’t imagine life without her! She has changed so much (doubled her weight!) which made me *really* want to know what this little girl was, so I ordered a simple cheek swab DNA kit from DNA My Dog. I have my suspicions, but she’s still quite wee (only 14.5 lbs) and has a bit of an underbite which is perplexing. She’s very food motivated and will play fetch, which I love! I do, however, think she has part piranha-part ant eater, but I would love to know what you think she might be! Make sure you leave me a comment and I will be sure to update you all when we get the results in a couple of weeks!
So without further ado, meet our adorable little pup Cedar (we decided to stick with a tree name thanks to a great friend’s suggestion…except I keep calling the poor wee thing Sitka, so I’m sure she’ll have an identity crisis in her teen years!)
Shona & Cedar xo
AMAZING!!! congrats on your beautiful girl…Cedar is so lucky to have you as family.
She is just the sweetest little thing :). And I can tell she’s not going to be spoiled at all ;). Beautiful beautiful pet portraits too!
She is so stinkin’ cute! I want to meet this sweet baby girl!! So glad she found her forever home with you 🙂
I have no clue what breed she is – but she’s so darn cute!! Congratulations – I’m so happy for you guys!!
OMG – she is SO CUTE!!!! These images make me want to run and get a puppy myself! – ALMOST:)
She is adorable!!! You are all so lucky to have found each other xoxo
She is so beautiful! Congrats, my friend!!!!
How cute!! My guess is a Black Mouthed Cur…except for her ears they are Shepard! Makes me want a new fur babie!! Congrats have fun!
I am no expert on dog breeds but there is some Shepherd in there for sure! The underbite thing makes me think that there might be some ‘bully breed’ (Staffordshire terrier? Boxer?) in there somewhere too! She’s adorable though no matter what she is! 🙂
I don’t know what breed she is, but I would love to know!
I still don’t know how she has a head left because I would squish it right off!!!!!! She is soooooo damn cute!!!
I have no idea what kind of breed she is, except for maybe ADORABLE! Seriously, she is so pretty. What a lucky lucky gal she is to find her forever home with you all!
I think she is Shepard and lab!
She is so precious, I wish I could snuggle her 🙁
[…] remember when I said I was going to do a DNA test on my dog? Well, the results are in and let’s just say NO ONE […]
