Yup, these snaps were taken of my wee girl before we left…and she’s in my dress! It became one of her favourite play dresses when Nana pulled it out last year….Honestly, I don’t know where Nana stores all of this stuff as every visit stuff comes out of the woodwork!
Enjoy!
On the “left coast” and getting to spend Father’s Day with my Dad for a change…a nice treat indeed. Unfortunately the gorgeous weather has soured, but it won’t rain on my parade! I’m smellin’ the ocean and watching my son play with tiny wee crab shells (and then he smashes them…ahem…). I actually have a pretty cool present for my Dad. I went to the national archives and got the original documents photocopied from my Great Grandfather’s service in WWI. I actually held these documents in my hands, saw his signature in person and learned that he had dysentery in Greece. Fitting given the plight of my poor kids over the last few days! I can’t wait to see his face when he sees all of this.
Here’s a few recent images of my little model since I can’t do another post without pics!
Happy Father’s Day!
My son has a rather serious relationship…with cheerios. He studies them, talks to them, squirrels them away in strange places for a rainy day. He’s just a funny little bug. Here’s a couple from the other morning.
The taste test:
Careful contemplation of the full bodied flavour:
So good he’s licking the bowl now…
And this last one just cracks me up…He looks like such a dork!
Now go eat your cheerios…breakfast is the most important meal, you know!

I’ve had so much fun editing these photos from my quick mini-session with my daughter that I just had to post a couple more!
Enjoy 😉
And, a couple more from the Tulip Festival…
When my daughter was almost 2 we went to Hawaii and she was hilarious telling everyone to “hang loose”! She also ran around in a little grass skirt and coconut top – everyone in the condo units were coming out on their balconies to see this little pudger run around…*sigh*… Now look at her! These pictures just add fuel to the (already burning) fire of wanting to got back and enjoy the sunsets and beauty.
The wreath was made by her school friend’s Mom from blossoms in their backyard. What a talented lady!
Have a great day! Shona
As tulips are my favourite flower, I had the pleasure of seeing the Tulip Festival in Ottawa for the first time. It was a beautiful May evening and quite impressive. If you’re ever in Ottawa in May, you have to check this event out!
Here’s a few pics from our evening:
My son kindly left most of the tops on the tulips, but did enjoy sampling a few….a-hem…;)
My wee girl has always been a deep thinker: pensive, thoughtful and sometimes overly cautious. She is so sensitive, but usually in a good way and always wants to do the right thing. Will this change in a few years once she’s a teenager? I hope not too much, but just enough to help her stick up for herself. *Sigh* It pains me to even think about this…
xo 😉
…Any cuter? Oh my. My boy just melts my heart (when he’s not pitching a fit, that is…LOL!). His little lips are so cute and he likes to give me kisses now. Hmmm….how long will that last? Not long enough, I’m sure!
Enjoy your long weekend!

I love these two shots I captured of my daughter in our backyard (when it wasn’t raining with crazy winds like today…blah). She has such amazing hair that captures the light beautifully and when she’s in the right mood, she’s very patient with me…I want to bottle up her sweetness and remember every little detail of her.
Anyone know how to do that?
Yup, this post is long overdue…Not sure where the month has gone since my son turned 2, but it’s past and here I am FINALLY posting a couple snapshots from his big par-tay.
First, there was another baking exstravaganza…And THIS is why I don’t bake…
I don’t know what it is about baking, but my brain goes out the window and flour flies…EVERYWHERE! I can roll sushi, I can cook Thai food and I’ve never met a gnocci I didn’t like, but man, flour, butter, sugar and eggs sends me to a quivering mass in the corner!
After this little, ahem, mess was cleaned up, I did finally make a train cake that had so much icing, die and candy on it, I was quite certain my son would be in instant shock. He was actually vibrating before he ate anything he was just so excited at the prospect!
I don’t normally load him up with sugar, but hey, you only turn 2 once, right!?
I’m glad you enjoyed your cake wee man! xoxox
