How did I get so lucky to have such loving kids?  I wasn’t feeling well this week and they both just crawled into bed with me and gave me a kiss on the forehead…My wee girl is so good at taking care of people, I sometimes think she’s a better parent than me already…

Nothing makes me feel better faster than butterfly kisses…

I truly am afraid of what this day holds for me in the future.  My son, oh how I love my son, but …  He is my, how do we say this politically correct?  My “spirited” child.  He’s an explorer (which I love!) and is into EVERYTHING (a little less love here).

Eggs on the counter – Awesome!  Lets see what happens when we smash them on something!  He’s the type of kid who can strike fear in any adult if he’s quiet for a few seconds…”What is he into??”  Or, if you see him bolting like a streak of lightening out of a room, you know he’s got something that he shouldn’t have (for example, my MAC lip gloss this morning).

And then there was the day he decided that his toy cow must have been chapped…Diaper cream was lovingly applied all over the cow.  Then the farm.  Then him.  Then the carpet….You get the picture.

However, he has a very loving and gentle side too…Just the other day he turned to my husband and said, “I love Mommy!”  All his tomfoolery is forgotten in an instant!!

Happy April Fool’s Day!

My baby’s “dirt day” (as her brother would call it) went off without a hitch…a bunch of cute 4/5 year olds dressed as fairies running amok, making crafts, playing games and, of course, seeing who could talk the loudest.  Man, it starts young with girls, doesn’t it?

I think I was more excited about her cake…She saw it before it was all done up and got very upset because she thought I was making her an “ant hill” birthday cake and that just wouldn’t do for a fairy party!

I did, however, redeem myself once she saw it, but you’ll see how petrified she is of the sparkler (image before this was priceless – shear terror until she saw her Barbie!), but I guess it was with good reason as I kind of singed her doll’s hand…oops.

Oh well, a happy girl in the end…And even happier the next day when she got to eat all the extra buttercream icing off of Barbie…couldn’t let it go to waste, you see!

I think we’ll rent some place by the time the little monkey reaches 5…

Until next time!  Shona

My two kids are both sweet and loving, but man they couldn’t be more different in some ways…My son is a wing nut with NO fear of cars (reminiscent of my dog actually), but my daughter is petrified of them!  We were out enjoying the pavement (oh how I love seeing pavement) and riding her bike (which is apparently too small now) and if a car was even at the very far end of the road, she would freak out and practically fall off the bike trying to get onto the grass even though she was at the side of the road and I was right beside her.  This, I suppose, is a good thing.

The other funny part was I was hoping to get a motion shot of her, but she was going so slowly this was all I could get!

She is also quite the chalk artist as seen below…

Note:  Those are shoulders on her dress people…h-hem…

Happy first day of Spring!!!

Well, my “baby” is almost two and I swear I have no idea where that time went or recollection of what he was like before he had the sass-pot attitude of a two year old…”it’s a phase, it’s only a phase” is my mantra these days…

We had a ‘girl’s afternoon’ and did some pint sized mani/pedi’s…great fun, but I hope I’m not setting myself up for a world of hurt for when she’s a teenager!  *sigh*  That will be too soon as it is…

We had a community event on the weekend and my daughter wanted to try snowshoeing…I think it took longer to put the plastic puppies on than it did for her to want to move on to the next activity. Fun while it lasted!

Better late than never right??  In my defence I’ve had too many hard drive issues to even try and mention them all…Things are not pretty around here…except, of course, for my wee girl 🙂

Winterlude is also way more fun than processing photos!!  More to come on that in a few days!

Baby, it’s cold outside!  I needed to remember what the warm sun felt like, so here’s a couple from our summer travels…

I think she’s trying to figure out how to catch a whale…

These two brothers were so much fun to play with, but man, they could not have been more different.  I could see one of them inviting me over for tea and chatting my ear off…the other…not so much!  It’s so cool to see siblings, who have the same parents, be so incredibly different and wonderful in their own, unique way.
