On the “left coast” and getting to spend Father’s Day with my Dad for a change…a nice treat indeed.  Unfortunately the gorgeous weather has soured, but it won’t rain on my parade!  I’m smellin’ the ocean and watching my son play with tiny wee crab shells (and then he smashes them…ahem…).  I actually have a pretty cool present for my Dad.  I went to the national archives and got the original documents photocopied from my Great Grandfather’s service in WWI.  I actually held these documents in my hands, saw his signature in person and learned that he had dysentery in Greece.  Fitting given the plight of my poor kids over the last few days!  I can’t wait to see his face when he sees all of this.
